This section provides you tools to help you be successful when conducting a prospective member interview, giving a facility tour, inviting the member to join, and building connections with members.

The interview is an effective method for discovering the wants, needs and interests of a prospective member. An interview also shows you care about them and are ready to listen.

A YMCA can be an intimidating place for prospective members. The tour helps you orient them with the areas they plan to use. This can help new memberes avoid feeling "lost" in their new YMCA home.

If you have provided a great experience for the prospective member from the moment they walked in your facility, through the tour and interview, the next natural step is asking them to join your YMCA as a facility member.

Once a new member joins, it is important for you to continue making connections by building relationships between new and existing members, and building relationships between new members and staff.
